K-Pop Demon Hunters Takes Netflix by Storm
Netflix's original film, K-Pop Demon Hunters (케이팝 데몬 헌터스), has made a significant impact since its release on June 20, 2025. According to Flix Patrol, the film has soared to the top of Netflix's global movie rankings, achieving a score of 715 points.
This action-fantasy animation features K-Pop superstars Lumi (루미), Mira (미라), and Joy (조이) as they take on the roles of hidden heroes protecting the world behind the dazzling stages of K-Pop. Notably, actor Ahn Hyo-seop (안효섭) has made his debut in English dubbing, while Lee Byung-hun (이병헌) voices the antagonist, Guima (귀마), in both Korean and English versions. Additionally, members of the popular group TWICE, Jeongyeon (정연), Jihyo (지효), and Chaeyoung (채영), contributed to the film's soundtrack, raising anticipation among fans.
The film incorporates various Korean cultural elements, such as Namsan Seoul Tower (남산 서울타워), traditional tiled houses (기와집), and the grim reaper (저승사자), enhancing its visual appeal. Remarkably, within just one day of its release, K-Pop Demon Hunters reached the number one spot in 18 countries, including Australia, Chile, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Poland, Turkey, the UK, and the US, alongside South Korea.
