K-Pop Demon Hunters Breaks Netflix Records with Over 132 Million Views

The Netflix original animated film, K-Pop Demon Hunters (케이팝 데몬 헌터스), has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the most-watched animated film on the platform, amassing a staggering 132.4 million views. According to Netflix's global social media accounts on July 30, this figure surpasses the previous record held by the 2023 release, Leo (레오), which garnered 101.2 million views.

What’s particularly noteworthy is that viewership continues to rise even six weeks after its release. In its fifth week, the film recorded 25.8 million views, and in the sixth week, it increased to 26.3 million, setting new weekly records.

The film's soundtrack has also made waves, with the theme song 'Golden' (골든), performed by the fictional girl group HuntRix (헌트릭스), reaching second place on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In total, eight songs from the soundtrack have entered the Hot 100.

K-Pop Demon Hunters features a storyline where a K-Pop idol group battles evil spirits, showcasing a blend of Korean cultural elements that has captured global attention. The film is directed by Canadian-Korean director Maggie Kang (매기 강) and produced by Sony Pictures Animation.
