Koyote's Shinji Expresses Concerns Over Wedding Controversy

Shinji, a member of the long-standing mixed group Koyote, recently addressed the controversy surrounding her fiancé, Moon Won, during an appearance on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block.' The episode aired on July 16, featuring Koyote members Kim Jong-min, Shinji, and Baekga, who have been active for 27 years.

Shinji expressed her regret over the negative attention her upcoming marriage has drawn, stating, "I think the members must be upset because things are going in a bad direction." She emphasized the deep bond she shares with Koyote, saying, "Koyote is family to me. Koyote is Shinji, and Shinji is Koyote. We are now naturally connected."

She also shared her worries about the potential impact on the group, noting, "I’m worried that my situation might cause the members to be hated. I see all the comments and reactions, and the phrases 'You ruined Koyote' and 'You caused this failure' are the most frightening and painful to me."

Shinji expressed her concern that her personal issues could affect her bandmates, saying, "We are strong, but I worry that my problems will drag the members down with me." She mentioned that Kim Jong-min reassured her, saying, "We started with nothing. You have us."

Kim Jong-min encouraged Shinji to focus on her happiness moving forward, acknowledging the challenges they faced while protecting Koyote from external issues. Baekga shared an emotional moment, revealing that his phone background is a picture of Koyote and that listening to Lee Seung-hwan's song 'Family' brought back memories of their 20-plus years together, saying, "I realized how much I care for the members and Shinji. I learned something about myself I didn’t know before."

Shinji is set to marry her younger fellow singer, Moon Won, who is seven years her junior, next year. Recently, Moon Won made headlines after revealing on YouTube that he has a child from a previous marriage, which sparked discussions online.
