Koyote's Shinji and Fiance Moon Won Address Controversies Ahead of Their Wedding

Shinji (신지), a member of the mixed group Koyote, and her fiancé Moon Won (문원) have recently spoken out regarding various allegations surrounding them. On July 3, Moon Won, 37, took to his Instagram to express his concerns about the narratives being circulated about him, stating, "I needed time to confirm the facts as I worried that my own memories might have been distorted."
The day before, Shinji, 44, introduced Moon Won to fellow Koyote members Kim Jong Min (김종민) and Baekga (빽가) on her YouTube channel, 'How Are You? (어떠신지)'. During the video, Moon Won revealed, "I was previously married and have a lovely daughter. Although my ex-wife is raising her, we communicate and try to care for our child together."
Following the video's release, Moon Won's comments and demeanor sparked controversy. Netizens criticized him for saying he didn't realize how famous Shinji was, for his respectful references to his ex-wife, and for mentioning 'age difference' to Kim Jong Min, whom he met for the first time.
Some users also raised personal allegations against him, suggesting he had been unfaithful, bullied someone during his military service, and engaged in fraudulent real estate practices.
In response to the ongoing discussions, Moon Won issued a formal apology, saying, "I sincerely apologize to Koyote fans and Shinji's fans for any discomfort and disappointment caused by my careless remarks and the controversies surrounding me."
He acknowledged his previous involvement in real estate without a license, admitting, "It is true that I worked in real estate without a broker's license. I started this out of necessity during my early career, but I now recognize that it was wrong. I take full responsibility for my actions and apologize to everyone I disappointed."
Regarding other allegations, he firmly stated, "I want to clarify that these claims are not true. I did not bully anyone during school or military service, and I am willing to provide objective evidence to prove this if necessary."
Moon Won also confirmed that while he did marry due to a premarital pregnancy with his ex-wife, the claims of infidelity are false. He clarified that his real name is Park Sang Moon (박상문) and that he only changed his stage name to Moon Won, not his legal name.
He concluded by urging people to refrain from spreading unverified rumors and false information, expressing his commitment to being a more responsible person in his future life with Shinji.
