Korean Webtoon Artist Kang Full Discusses Plans for Moving 2 After Completing Lighting Store

Korean webtoon artist Kang Full recently shared his plans for the upcoming series Moving 2 during an interview held at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. This discussion followed the conclusion of his latest Disney+ original series, Lighting Store (조명가게), which he wrote and was directed by Kim Hee-won.

Lighting Store tells the story of a mysterious shop that illuminates a dark alley, attracting customers with hidden secrets. This series is a follow-up to the highly acclaimed drama Moving (무빙), and following its success, Disney+ has confirmed the production of Moving 2. Kang Full is set to begin work on the script for Moving 2 shortly.

The anticipation for the 'Kang Full Universe' is palpable. He remarked, "Lighting Store just wrapped up last week. I haven't officially started the script for Moving 2 yet, but I need to do some planning in my head. After finishing Lighting Store, I will dive straight into Moving 2 and start thinking about the next project. I want to keep the audience guessing about what comes after Moving 2. I’m eager to immerse myself in this universe continuously."

Kang Full also reflected on his journey, saying, "Until the end of Moving, I thought I would take a break and work on something else, almost like returning to my roots in webtoons. But now, I find myself needing to write the script for Moving 2, and I wonder how long I can keep this up. I often hear people asking, 'When will Hidden (히든) come out?' and I feel like I’m running away from that question. Right now, I’m not sure."

He expressed his excitement about the current script, stating, "The script is incredibly fun. The challenges are the same, but it feels more enjoyable. I’ve fully embraced my profession. Yet, there are times when I feel a strong urge to return to webtoons, especially when I question if I’m adhering to the rules of drama writing. I want to avoid any limitations and give my best effort in this project."

Lighting Store consists of eight episodes and is available on Disney+.
