Korean Radio Shows Postpone Guest Appearances Following Jeju Air Tragedy

In the wake of the tragic Jeju Air passenger plane accident, several terrestrial radio programs in South Korea have postponed or canceled guest appearances. KBS Cool FM's 'Park Myung-soo's Radio Show' announced on December 29 that the scheduled appearances of actors Park Geun-hyung and Lee Sang-yoon on December 30 have been postponed, stating, "We will inform you of the new broadcast schedule as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding."
Park Geun-hyung and Lee Sang-yoon were set to promote the play 'Death of a Salesman' on the show, but the severity of the incident prompted a rescheduling.
Additionally, musical stars Nam Woo-hyun and Choi Jin-hyuk were also expected to appear on KBS Cool FM's 'Lee Eun-ji's Music Plaza' on December 31. The program confirmed, "We regret to inform you that the appearances of Nam Woo-hyun and Choi Jin-hyuk have been postponed. We appreciate your understanding and will announce a new schedule soon."
Earlier, MBC FM4U's 'Lee Seok-hoon's Brunch Cafe' also canceled the scheduled appearances of actress Cha Joo-young and guest Lee Hyun-wook on December 30. The two were supposed to meet listeners ahead of the premiere of the tvN X TVING original drama 'Wonkyung' on January 6, but their appearance was canceled due to the tragedy.
'Lee Seok-hoon's Brunch Cafe' expressed condolences on December 29, stating, "We pray for the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane tragedy. The special DJ segment with Cha Joo-young and the guest appearance by Lee Hyun-wook will not take place. We ask for your understanding." On that day, MBC announcer Lee Jae-eun will take over hosting duties in place of Cha Joo-young.
The accident occurred on the morning of December 29 at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do, where a flight from Bangkok skidded off the runway while landing. As of now, authorities have confirmed 179 fatalities and 2 injuries.
