Korean History Instructor Jeon Han-gil Announces Retirement from Teaching

On May 14, Jeon Han-gil, a prominent Korean history instructor, announced his retirement from teaching as he concluded his contract with Mega Public Service. In a conversation with our publication, Jeon stated, "I am retiring as a history instructor. After 26 years of teaching, I believe it is time to step down," while confirming that he will continue his activities with 'Jeon Han-gil News'. He explained that although he signed a long-term contract with Mega Study in December of last year, he decided to end it in February due to the political nature of his discussions, which he felt might be burdensome for the company, especially with many students involved. Mega Public Service also released an official statement regarding the termination of Jeon's contract and the cessation of his courses. Jeon expressed his future intentions through 'Jeon Han-gil News', stating, "While I am stepping back from the classroom, this is not an end but a new beginning. I will pursue a path as a journalist and become a voice for the people." He had hinted at his retirement in recent months, mentioning the need to consider the right time to step down, especially after receiving complaints from students with differing political views. Jeon launched 'Jeon Han-gil News' in April, marking a new chapter in his career.
