Kim Yong-bin Maintains Top Spot in Mister Trot 3 Online Voting for Three Consecutive Weeks

In a remarkable display of talent, Kim Yong-bin has secured the number one position in the online voting for 'Mister Trot 3' for three consecutive weeks. The results of the online support voting were revealed at the start of the sixth episode, which aired on January 24, 2025. The voting period ran from January 23 at 9 AM to January 30 at 9 AM.
During the recent one-on-one death match in the second round of the finals, Kim Yong-bin captivated both the judges and the audience with his rendition of Patty Kim's 'Goodbye,' showcasing his luxurious vocal tone and unique aura. According to TV Chosun's tally, which covered clips from January 23 to January 29, Kim's performance ranked among the top spots on the official YouTube channels of TV Chosun, including clips that took first, third, fourth, and sixth places.
After his performance, Kim opened up about the burdens and loneliness he faced as a child prodigy. Judge Jang Yoon-jung reflected on Kim's early years, stating, "When a child receives such immense talent, they often find themselves in a situation where they have no choice but to pursue it, which can feel like a lonely burden. I wanted to express my gratitude for how well he has overcome these challenges and become a wonderful singer." Overwhelmed with emotion, Kim thanked Jang for understanding his lonely feelings and eventually broke down on stage.
In a prior interview with the production team, Kim shared, "There was no Kim Yong-bin when I was young. I never experienced school life or even went on a school trip. The stage felt like a place where I stood alone, and the pressure of not making mistakes was immense."
Following Kim Yong-bin in the rankings, Son Bin-ah held onto the second position for the second week in a row. In her one-on-one death match, she performed Na Hoon-a's 'Mangmo,' earning praise for her heartfelt delivery and emotional high notes. The two contestants shared their personal struggles, including the pain of parental divorce, which resonated deeply with the audience.
Rising two spots to third place was Nam Seung-min, who previously ranked fifth. He performed Na Hoon-a's 'Why Cry' under the guidance of Master Lee Chan-won, who had previously made a mark with the same song in 'Mister Trot 1.' Nam's smooth and flowing voice, combined with his dynamic control, brought excitement to the stage.
Park Ji-hoo, who dropped from third to fourth place, faced challenges due to an unfortunate in-ear monitor mishap last week but still received unwavering support from fans. Choo Hyuk-jin, who took on a new challenge with a 'water show,' maintained his fifth position. Chun-gil, a trot singer, secured sixth place, while rookie star Choi Jae-myung held steady in seventh place.
