Kim Won-guk Expresses Confidence in New Disney+ Series 'Made in Korea'

Kim Won-guk, the producer of the upcoming Disney+ series 'Made in Korea', showcased his strong confidence in the project during the Disney+ Open House event held on May 23, 2025, at the Gangnam Finance Center in Seoul. The event featured key figures including Choi Yeon-woo, head of local content at The Walt Disney Company Korea, and Yoo Jeong-hoon, producer of 'Killer's Shopping Mall'.
Disney+ is set to captivate global subscribers in 2025 with a robust lineup. Following the January premiere of 'Trigger', starring Kim Hye-soo, the platform has introduced several titles in the first half of the year, including the medical thriller 'Hyperknife' featuring Seol Kyung-gu and Park Eun-bin, and the new series 'Nine Puzzle' starring Kim Da-mi and Son Seok-koo. Upcoming releases for the second half of the year include 'Fine: Country Bumpkins' with Ryu Seung-ryong, Yang Se-jong, and Lim Soo-jung, 'Polaris' featuring Jun Ji-hyun and Gang Dong-won, 'Tangled' with Rowoon and Shin Ye-eun, and 'Fragment City' starring Ji Chang-wook and Do Kyung-soo.
Kim Won-guk, who is investing 700 billion won into 'Made in Korea', which stars Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung, expressed his enthusiasm for the series. He stated, "I don’t often promote my works unless I’m confident in them. I did strong PR for 'Seoul's Spring', claiming it would be an extraordinary film, and I believe 'Made in Korea' will also be a powerful project thanks to Disney's excellent support and Hive's production capabilities."
He added, "I expect this to be a strong piece. The production team has done an exceptional job, and I believe it will be a remarkable drama. You can truly look forward to it. With Disney and our company behind 'Made in Korea', I think it will change the landscape of the K-drama industry in Korea."
