Kim Tae-ho Returns to MBC with New Variety Show Featuring G-Dragon

Kim Tae-ho, the renowned producer behind MBC's legendary variety show Infinite Challenge (무한도전), is set to return to his roots with a new program at MBC. This highly anticipated show, tentatively titled GD and Friends (GD와 친구들), is expected to feature BIGBANG's G-Dragon (지드래곤), along with popular entertainers Jung Hyung-don (정형돈) and Jo Se-ho (조세호).

According to industry sources, Kim's production company TEO is in discussions with MBC to launch this new variety show next year. MBC confirmed on December 12 that they are positively considering the scheduling of Kim Tae-ho's new program.

If this show debuts, it will mark Kim's return to MBC after nearly three years, following his departure after the 2022 series You Quiz on the Block (놀면 뭐하니?). Since then, he has directed various projects across different platforms, including Tving's Seoul Check-In (서울체크인), ENA's Earth Monopoly World Tour (지구마불 세계여행), tvN's Canada Check-In (캐나다 체크인), and JTBC's My Name is Gabriel (My name is 가브리엘).

Fans are eager to see what emotional and entertaining content Kim will bring back to MBC, especially with G-Dragon at the center of the show. After a seven-year hiatus, G-Dragon has made a strong comeback in the music scene, appearing in various music festivals, web variety shows, and radio programs, which has heightened interest in his potential regular role in this new variety show.

The chemistry between Kim Tae-ho and G-Dragon has already been proven during their previous collaborations on Infinite Challenge, where G-Dragon showcased his unexpected comedic talent. With the inclusion of close friends Jung Hyung-don and Jo Se-ho, expectations for this new program are soaring.
