Kim Soo-hyun Denies Allegations of Relationship with Late Kim Sae-ron

On March 31, 2025, actor Kim Soo-hyun held a press conference at the Stanford Hotel in Sangam-dong, Seoul, addressing various allegations, including claims of a relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron, who was a minor at the time. Kim stated, 'We dated for about a year, starting five years ago, before the airing of 'Queen of Tears' four years later.' He acknowledged that he had previously denied the relationship and understood the criticism of his choices.

He firmly denied having dated Kim Sae-ron during her minor years, stating, 'It is not true that she made a tragic decision due to my rejection or that my agency pressured her regarding debts. Aside from being actors, we were just a normal couple who had good feelings for each other and eventually parted ways.'

Kim Soo-hyun expressed his willingness to accept any criticism regarding his choices but emphasized that falsehoods should not be accepted as truth. 'What I did not do, I did not do. I want to clarify this for those who still believe in me. I will prove it,' he asserted.

His legal representatives announced plans to file criminal and civil lawsuits against those involved, including Kim Sae-ron's family and the operators of the YouTube channel Gaseyeon, seeking 12 billion KRW in damages. In response, Gaseyeon stated via their YouTube comments that they would not apologize to Kim Sae-ron's family and planned to release a video from 2018 featuring Kim Sae-ron at home.

Previously, Kim Sae-ron's family claimed on the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Research Institute' that Kim Soo-hyun had been in a relationship with her since her third year of middle school, lasting over six years. They alleged that Kim Sae-ron's former agency, Goldmedalist, which Kim Soo-hyun founded, pressured her with a 700 million KRW compensation demand last year, and that he ignored the situation despite being her ex-boyfriend.

However, Goldmedalist clarified that while Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron did date, it was from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020, after she had become an adult. They stated that the legal notice sent to Kim Sae-ron was part of a process related to her DUI incident and was not a demand for payment.

Following Kim Soo-hyun's continued denials, Kim Sae-ron's family held a press conference on March 27, 2025, presenting evidence of their relationship during her minor years and demanding an apology. Just four days later, Kim Soo-hyun held his own press conference to deny all allegations.
