Kim Soo-hyun Addresses Controversies in Emergency Press Conference

On March 31, 2025, actor Kim Soo-hyun held an emergency press conference at the Stanford Hotel in Mapo, Seoul, to address various controversies, including allegations that he dated the late Kim Sae-ron while she was a minor. During the conference, Kim Soo-hyun's legal representative, attorney Kim Jong-bok from LK Partners, announced that they have filed criminal complaints against Kim Sae-ron's family and the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute for defamation, as well as a lawsuit seeking 12 billion KRW in damages.
Kim Soo-hyun reiterated that he did not have a relationship with Kim Sae-ron during her minor years, stating that they dated for about a year starting in 2020, four years before the airing of the drama "Queen of Tears." He claimed that the allegations made by Kim Sae-ron's family and Garosero were based on false testimonies and fabricated evidence.
He criticized the initial KakaoTalk messages released by the family, pointing out numerous inaccuracies, including a photo they claimed was from 2016, which was actually from 2019. Kim Soo-hyun also highlighted discrepancies in the identities of individuals in the KakaoTalk conversations from 2016 and 2018, asserting that they were not the same person. To support his claims, he submitted the messages to a verification agency, which concluded that the individuals were indeed different.
Furthermore, Kim Soo-hyun expressed concern over the sudden emergence of new recorded testimonies and edited images as evidence whenever his agency responded to the family's claims. He emphasized the need for thorough verification of all evidence presented by the family through investigative authorities, urging them to submit their materials for legal scrutiny if they are indeed truthful.
