Kim Seon-ho Joins Fantagio Amid Controversy Over Contract Details

Actor Kim Seon-ho has officially signed with Fantagio, the agency that represents stars like Cha Eun-woo and Ong Seong-woo, marking a significant change after leaving Salt Entertainment. Reports suggest that Kim received a contract fee of around 2 billion KRW, sparking interest in his new agency affiliation.

On March 1, Fantagio announced, "Actor Kim Seon-ho has signed an exclusive contract with us. He is a beloved actor known for his stable acting skills and unique charm, and we will provide comprehensive support for him to showcase his talents across various projects and fields."

This move comes after Kim's six-year tenure with Salt Entertainment, where he was known for his roles in popular dramas. Fantagio is home to not only actors but also the music group ASTRO, as well as members of Weki Meki, including Kim Do-yeon and Choi Yoo-jung.

Following the announcement of his transfer, speculation has arisen regarding the reasons behind his choice of agency. Reports indicate that the substantial contract fee may have influenced his decision to sign with Fantagio instead of Song Joong-ki's High Zium Studio, which he was rumored to join since December of last year. At that time, High Zium Studio confirmed that while meetings had occurred, no contract had been finalized.

Concerns have also been raised about Kim's previous contract with Salt Entertainment, which ended in February 2025, suggesting that the transition was not entirely smooth. Additionally, reports have surfaced claiming that Kim required a large contract fee to purchase an apartment, further fueling discussions about financial motivations behind his agency switch.

Despite the surrounding controversies, Fantagio has maintained a cautious stance, stating, "We cannot confirm details regarding the contract fee or related matters. We appreciate your understanding."

Looking ahead, Kim Seon-ho is expected to continue his active career post-transition. His series "Unfriend," which he completed filming in November 2023, is set to be released on Tving soon, allowing fans to see him back on screen shortly.
