Kim Sae-ron's Family Exposes Legal Threats from Kim Soo-hyun's Agency

The family of the late actress 김새론 (Kim Sae-ron) has revealed details about a second legal notice sent by 김수현 (Kim Soo-hyun)'s agency, indicating a potential legal battle ahead. On March 17, 2025, attorney 부지석 (Boo Ji-seok) from the law firm 부유 (Boo Yoo) attended a press conference outside the Seoul Police Agency, where he filed a complaint against a YouTuber known as A and shared the family's stance alongside professor 권영찬 (Kwon Young-chan) and 김세의 (Kim Se-yi), the head of the '가로세로연구소' (Garosero Research Institute).

During the press conference, attorney Boo expressed that the false statements made by Kim Soo-hyun's agency have caused additional distress to the family and called for a sincere apology. He explained that after the first legal notice was sent, Kim Sae-ron had sent a desperate message to Kim Soo-hyun, to which the agency responded with a second notice. This notice, according to Boo, included threats against Kim Sae-ron and prohibited her from contacting Kim Soo-hyun or his agency members, stating that legal action would be taken if she posted any photos.

Boo further noted that since the second notice was issued, there has been no communication from Kim Soo-hyun, nor from other actors in the agency with whom Kim Sae-ron had previously been in contact. He expressed concern over the emotional turmoil Kim Sae-ron must have experienced upon receiving such notices, questioning why Kim Soo-hyun's side is now waiting for the family's contact through a public statement. The family is currently considering legal action against Kim Soo-hyun.

Professor Kwon shared how they came across the second legal notice, stating that they had initially seen all the photos related to the case but had no intention of making them public. However, after A's video claimed the agency's statements were unfounded, they felt compelled to share the photos. Kwon described feeling isolated as they were unable to reach Kim Soo-hyun or his agency, leading them to post the photos, which resulted in a quick response from the agency promising to resolve the issue. However, the next day, they received the second legal notice.

Regarding the contents of the second notice, Kwon mentioned that it included threats about posting photos on social media and contacting anyone from the agency, warning that any damages incurred would require full compensation. He questioned the legitimacy of claims that 700 million won had been repaid, suggesting that the agency's actions were questionable.

Attorney Boo emphasized that the nature of Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron's breakup is unclear, especially after Kim Sae-ron's tragic passing. He speculated that the desperate message sent by Kim Sae-ron indicated that their relationship had not ended due to a major conflict. He urged the public to consider the emotional impact of the legal threats on Kim Sae-ron.

The family indicated that this press conference was just the first of many, as they plan to pursue legal action against Kim Soo-hyun. Attorney Boo stated that they are reviewing various aspects of the case, including the legal notices.

Previously, the '가로세로연구소' claimed that Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron had been in a relationship from 2015 to 2021 when Kim Sae-ron was a minor, and that after her DUI incident in 2022, the agency pressured her to repay the 700 million won borrowed for accident recovery. Kim Soo-hyun's side has denied these allegations, labeling them as false and asserting that their relationship only began after Kim Sae-ron turned 18, specifically from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020. The agency also clarified that the debt issue is strictly between Kim Sae-ron and the agency, emphasizing their efforts to secure their claims against her.
