Kim Nam-joo Shares Hilarious Valentine's Day Gift Story from Husband Kim Seung-woo

Actress Kim Nam-joo brought laughter to the latest episode of SBS's variety show, My Little Old Boy (미운 우리 새끼), where she candidly shared amusing anecdotes about her husband, Kim Seung-woo, with whom she has been married for 20 years.
During the June 29 broadcast, Kim Nam-joo recounted a rather unconventional Valentine's Day gift from her husband. She revealed that one day she found a bouquet of flowers in their son's room and, upon asking about it, learned that their son had taken it to give to a friend. Feeling a bit jealous, she vented to her husband, who then surprised her the next day with a gold rose and a vase.
When asked by host Shin Dong-yup if it was made of pure gold, Kim Nam-joo humorously responded, "It’s probably gold-plated. He said he bought me flowers that won’t wilt, but after 20 years, he still doesn’t know my taste." She added, "I do like gold, but I prefer fresh flowers," which elicited laughter from the studio, especially when the other cast members chimed in, saying, "Cash is better than gold!"
The episode also highlighted Kim Seung-woo's jealous side. Kim Nam-joo mentioned that her husband still sneaks away quietly whenever she has romantic or kissing scenes in dramas, refusing to watch them. She recalled how he particularly disliked her passionate scenes in the drama Misty (미스티).
In a funny twist, she shared that her husband once asked for a kissing scene to be reshot because he found it awkward. When asked if she thought his jealousy was cute, she firmly replied, "No, I don’t understand it. Acting is just acting!" This comment sent the studio into fits of laughter.
Recently, Kim Nam-joo made headlines by taking on her first solo variety show after 32 years in the industry, showcasing her luxurious home in Samseong-dong alongside her husband. Although she appeared nervous at the start of the show, a behind-the-scenes moment revealed that Kim Seung-woo had been watching her from the garden and even came into the living room to offer unsolicited advice, which led to some humorous moments on set.
