On January 20, a YouTube channel released a video discussing the situation. The YouTuber mentioned that Hong Sang-soo is very fond of his daughter but notably did not attend his wedding two to three years ago, nor did he contribute a wedding gift. Friends of the couple expressed their disbelief, but his wife reportedly stated, 'That's just how he is.'
