Kim Min-ha Reveals How Seol Kyung-gu Inspired Her Acting Career

In the latest episode of KBS2TV's The Seasons - Lee Young-ji's Rainbow, actress Kim Min-ha shared that her aspiration to become an actress was significantly influenced by Seol Kyung-gu. During the broadcast on February 7, Kim discussed her journey in the acting world, stating, "It was tough because there was no guarantee of success." She recounted how she auditioned for various roles across different genres immediately after being accepted into the theater and film department. Kim reflected on the challenges she faced, particularly after graduating from university without any agency representation, saying, "I often wondered if I would ever make it. It was during this time that I received an audition for Pachinko, which I pursued with desperation. The day I learned I got the role was my birthday, making it feel like a fateful gift."

Additionally, Kim revealed that Seol Kyung-gu, who lived next door to her, played a pivotal role in her decision to pursue acting. "It was thanks to Kyung-gu that I decided to go to the theater and film department and to become an actress. He encouraged me to try acting, and he was the first adult to suggest that to me," she reminisced. In a heartfelt video message, she expressed her gratitude, saying, "I don't think I've ever properly thanked Kyung-gu for his support, but I am always grateful."

Kim also shared an emotional moment when she encountered Seol at the Busan International Film Festival, stating, "It felt so surreal, and I was genuinely moved. I hope to work hard and one day act alongside him."
