Kim Jun-ho and His Sons Embark on Their First Climb in 'The Return of Superman'

In the latest episode of KBS 2TV's variety show The Return of Superman (슈퍼맨이 돌아왔다), aired on January 1, 2025, Kim Jun-ho and his sons, Eun-woo and Jung-woo, took on their first-ever mountain climbing adventure. The episode, themed 'A Year Full of Happiness and Love in the Year of the Blue Snake,' showcased the trio's ascent of Mt. Eungbong.

As the new year began, Kim Jun-ho expressed his desire to share a positive experience with his young sons by taking them on a safe and manageable hike. He stated, "Since it's the new year, I want to receive good energy and go on our first hike together. Since the kids are still young, we decided to go to the lower and safer Mt. Eungbong."

Upon arriving at the trailhead, Eun-woo and Jung-woo were taken aback by the numerous stairs they encountered. However, Kim Jun-ho encouraged them, saying, "Jung-woo, let’s try walking!" Eun-woo, taking the lead, cheered on his younger brother, saying, "You can do it, Jung-woo! Just do it like I do!" With their father's support, Jung-woo managed to climb the stairs step by step.

Interestingly, it was Kim Jun-ho who tired first among the three. He asked Eun-woo, "Can we take a break?" but Eun-woo insisted, "We can't take a break!" This prompted Kim Jun-ho to remark, "Eun-woo is doing better than I expected."

Eun-woo demonstrated determination by crawling up the stairs on all fours, declaring, "There’s no giving up!" In the studio, Kim Jun-ho proudly stated, "In our family, giving up is not an option," to which Choi Ji-woo expressed her admiration, noting how much Eun-woo resembled his father in that regard.

At one point during the climb, Kim Jun-ho lifted both boys and quickly carried them to the summit, saying, "Since you’ve made it this far, I’ll finish it for you!" A caption revealed that the combined weight of the two brothers was 27 kg, leading Ahn Young-mi to exclaim, "We didn’t realize it before; he really is a former national athlete!"

As Kim Jun-ho even ran with the boys in his arms, Park Soo-hong was astonished, asking, "Isn’t this something you do at the Taereung Training Center?" Kim Jun-ho proudly replied, "I was good at running stairs even when I was an athlete."

The father-son trio reached the peak with the spirit of a national representative. To commemorate their successful climb and as a New Year’s gift, Kim Jun-ho presented Eun-woo with a dinosaur egg. Eun-woo named it 'Ankylosaurus' and cherished it, bringing smiles to viewers. However, when faced with a realistic dinosaur toy that hatched from the egg, Eun-woo exclaimed, "It’s scary!" and promptly rejected it, eliciting laughter.
