Kim Jung-hyun Awakens in 'Iron Family'

In the latest episode of KBS 2TV's weekend drama 'Iron Family' (다리미 패밀리), aired on January 26, 2025, Kim Jung-hyun's character, Seo Gang-joo, regains consciousness after his mother, Baek Ji-yeon (played by Kim Hye-eun), mentions a generous donation of 10 billion won.

In an emotional scene, Da-rim (played by Geum Sae-rok) visits Gang-joo in the hospital, tearfully urging him to wake up. "Gang-joo, I'm here. It's been a while," she cries, pleading for him to open his eyes. Despite her efforts over several days, Gang-joo remains unresponsive, prompting Ji-yeon to suggest that Da-rim give him a kiss to help him wake up. Ji-yeon teasingly asks, "Haven't you done that yet? Are you just pretending?" to which Da-rim sheepishly admits, "I did sleep, though."

Days later, during a phone call with Da-rim, Ji-yeon expresses her frustration over Gang-joo's continued unconsciousness. She declares, "I’ll donate my 10 billion won to those in need instead of you, Gang-joo. I’ll cover the surgery costs for people like Da-rim who need eye operations." Ji-yeon passionately states, "With 10 billion won, I could fund surgeries for ten people and even two more!" At that moment, Gang-joo's finger twitches, and Da-rim rushes to the hospital upon hearing the news.

As Gang-joo finally opens his eyes, Da-rim leans in and kisses him, saying, "I love you, Gang-joo." Overwhelmed with emotion, she adds, "I missed you. Thank you." Gang-joo responds, "I love you, Da-rim. I said it a thousand times while I was lying here. Didn’t you hear me?"
