Kim Jong-min Gets Anxious Over Lost Contact with Girlfriend on 1 Night 2 Days

In the latest episode of KBS2's variety show 1 Night 2 Days (1박 2일) aired on December 22, 2024, Kim Jong-min found himself in a state of anxiety when he lost contact with his 11-year-younger girlfriend. The episode featured a 'Happy Hotel Stay' theme, where all the members arrived at their accommodation expecting a relaxing time. However, the atmosphere quickly shifted when Jo Se-ho opened a gift box, triggering an unexpected alarm that disrupted the peaceful setting. Mysterious men then appeared and took Jo Se-ho away, leaving him confused as he repeatedly said, 'I was just told to relax...'.

The show's producer announced that the real theme of the trip was 'Happy Extreme Cold Experience', revealing that the members would undergo the signature extreme cold training of 1 Night 2 Days. They were informed that they would need to survive without their phones and personal belongings, although they would be allowed one last phone call. This marked the return of the extreme cold special after three years since February 2022, with new members Lee Joon and Jo Se-ho facing their initiation.

As the extreme cold camp began, Kim Jong-min and DinDin were introduced, and the producer reiterated that phones and personal items would be collected for the duration of the camp. Kim Jong-min, visibly distressed, asked, 'Until what time will we have our phones taken away?' to which the producer replied, 'Until you check out tomorrow.' He expressed his concern, saying, 'Oh really? I need to make a call.'

DinDin urged him to just hang up if his girlfriend didn’t answer, but Kim Jong-min insisted, 'I need to tell her something...' as he anxiously paced. DinDin advised him to leave a message instead, questioning why he was trying to call someone who wasn’t picking up. Ultimately, Kim Jong-min was unable to make the call and had to change into his camp attire.

Earlier, on December 21, Kim Jong-min had appeared at the 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards alongside Jeon Hyun-moo, where he officially mentioned his relationship with his younger girlfriend. Jeon Hyun-moo suggested that Kim Jong-min write a video letter to his girlfriend, referencing Jo Se-ho's earlier acceptance speech about partners. Although surprised, Kim Jong-min gracefully shared the news of his upcoming marriage, stating, 'The wedding is next year. I met someone I really like this year, and I think I can be with her next year,' which earned him a round of applause.
