Kim Ji-woo to Shine in New Drama 'Namib'

Actress Kim Ji-woo is set to showcase a fresh side of herself in the upcoming Genie TV original drama 'Namib' (written by Eom Seong-min, directed by Han Sang-jae and Kang Min-goo). She will portray the role of Yoon Ji-young, an idol trainee, bringing her vibrant charm to viewers just in time for the year-end.

In 'Namib', Kim Ji-woo's character Ji-young is an idol trainee under Pandora Entertainment, co-led by Kang Soo-hyun (played by Ko Hyun-jung). Despite consistently missing out on debut opportunities by a narrow margin, Ji-young embodies perseverance and hard work, reflecting realistic struggles and growth as she navigates her future aspirations.

Additionally, Ji-young is the only best friend of Yoo Jin-woo (played by Ryu Un), providing unwavering support to him as he grapples with his darker side. Her character is expected to bring a refreshing energy to the show, acting as a 'mood-lifting fairy' in every scene.

Having begun her acting career with KBS2's 'Drama Special 2022 - The Nineteen Moon', Kim Ji-woo gained recognition as the lead character So-young in the web drama 'Walking into the Wilderness 2023', showcasing her talent in youth fantasy romance. As a rising star recently cast in the Tving original series 'Running Mate', her performance in 'Namib' is highly anticipated.

'Namib' tells the story of a dismissed star producer, Kang Soo-hyun, and a long-term trainee, Yoo Jin-woo, as they pursue their individual goals. The drama will premiere on December 23 at 10 PM on ENA, with streaming available for free on KT Genie TV and Genie TV Mobile immediately after the broadcast.
