Kim Ji-cheol Expresses Outrage Over Lawmakers' Absence During Vote
Following the recent protests led by actress 신소율 (Shin So-yul), her husband, musical actor 김지철 (Kim Ji-cheol), has also voiced his frustration regarding the collective walkout of ruling party lawmakers during a crucial parliamentary vote. On December 7, Kim Ji-cheol took to his personal social media to express his disbelief, stating, "It is shocking that they only shout for votes during the voting period but fail to participate in the current situation." He questioned, "How can one not vote? If you support something, vote in favor; if you oppose it, vote against it. It's a secret ballot! What are they afraid of?" He emphasized that those elected to the National Assembly should fulfill their basic responsibilities, adding, "Please, just do the basics."
The National Assembly convened at 5 PM to discuss the special investigation law regarding First Lady 김건희 (Kim Geon-hee) and the impeachment motion against President 윤석열 (Yoon Suk-yeol). While the ruling party, 국민의힘 (People Power Party), completed the vote on the special investigation law, they refused to vote on the impeachment motion and left the assembly. In response, Shin So-yul shared a photo from the protests with a caption urging, "Please vote... How can this happen?" echoing her husband's call for accountability among lawmakers.
Shin So-yul and Kim Ji-cheol have been married since December 2019.
