Kim Hyo-jin Shares Her Late Motherhood Journey on 'Dolsing Po Man'

On the January 14 episode of SBS's variety show 'Dolsing Po Man' (신발벗고 돌싱포맨), Kim Hyo-jin revealed her inspiring story of becoming a mother at the age of 45 through natural conception. With a less than 3% chance of success, she expressed her gratitude, stating, "Miraculously, my second daughter came to me."
Kim Hyo-jin, who now has an eight-year age gap between her first and second daughters, shared that she was initially content with just one child. She mentioned, "I thought I was experiencing early menopause since I hadn’t had my period, but I decided to take a pregnancy test with an expired kit from my first pregnancy. The faint lines were unclear, so I bought a new test, and it showed two clear lines."
However, her first daughter had a difficult time accepting the news of a sibling. Kim Hyo-jin noted, "Typically, only children ask for a sibling, but my first daughter insisted she didn’t need one. I was cautious about her feelings, worried she might get hurt. When I told her about the baby, she cried, which was more shocking than I expected. She often talked about wanting a puppy, but never asked for a sibling."
Her heartfelt anecdotes captivated the audience, highlighting the emotional complexities of late motherhood and sibling dynamics.
