Kim Heechul Surprises Fans with Fake Marriage Announcement on '20th Century Hit Song'

On March 28, during the 258th episode of KBS Joy's '20th Century Hit Song' themed 'April Fool's Special! 21st Century Hit Song', Kim Heechul made a shocking announcement. He stated, "I need to greet you all seriously today. I, Kim Heechul, am finally getting married!" This unexpected news left everyone in disbelief. Co-host Mi-joo expressed her excitement, saying, "You're really getting married! Congratulations!" However, Heechul quickly revealed it was a prank, exclaiming, "Everyone, it's a joke! Today is April 1st, April Fool's Day. I used to pull these kinds of pranks a lot in the past."

In a twist, announcer Oh Hyo-joo, who filled in for Lee Dong-geun on a business trip to Dubai, announced, "I am now a fixed member of 'Hit Song.'" Heechul humorously added, "This is not an April Fool's joke!"

This isn't the first time Heechul has teased fans about marriage. Last year on 'My Little Old Boy' (미우새), he jokingly declared he would hold a mysterious wedding, stating he wanted to break the stereotype that grooms must wear black tuxedos. He surprised his mother by appearing in a bright red tuxedo and introduced his 'bride' as someone he would love for a lifetime, only to reveal that the bride was himself. He emphasized, "I’m serious. Today’s bride is me, whom I love dearly," creating a buzz around his self-marriage concept known as 'sologamy.'
