Kim Eun-hee Discusses the Long-Awaited Season 2 of Signal
In a recent episode of MBC's 'Questions', writer Kim Eun-hee revealed insights about the much-anticipated Season 2 of 'Signal'. She noted that it took nine years to develop the sequel after the original series, emphasizing that the process involves more than just her writing the script. 'It's not just about me writing the script; there are complex schedules and various factors involving the cast,' she explained. Currently, she is preparing for the 'second signal' and is in the process of writing episodes 7 and 8. Kim confirmed that all three main characters will return, and hinted that a walkie-talkie will play a significant role in the new storyline.
Fellow writer Kim Eun-sook, a close friend of Kim Eun-hee, even urged her to continue the story, saying, 'If you ended 'Signal' like that, shouldn't you write the next one?' She offered to assist as a co-writer if Kim Eun-hee struggled with the romantic elements, expressing admiration for Kim's talent by recalling a memorable scene from the original series.
Actor Lee Je-hoon, who starred in 'Signal', shared his thoughts on the series, stating, 'It showcased the struggle of a person wanting to give up but finding the strength to catch the culprit. It was always moving. I pondered what gives the writer the power to tell such stories. The writer has a deep interest in people and conveys how to transform the hearts of those in difficult situations into hope through her writing. As an actor, it ignites my desire to perform even better,' he said with a smile.
