Kim Dong-wan Reveals Dating History with Lee Hyori on 'Dolsing Po Man'

In the latest episode of SBS's entertainment show 'Dolsing Po Man', Kim Dong-wan shared surprising details about his past dating experiences, including a date with comedian Kim Ji-min and a memorable encounter with singer Lee Hyori. During the episode aired on February 4, Kim Dong-wan casually mentioned, "I once went on a date with Ji-min," which left fellow cast member Kim Jun-ho visibly shocked. He quickly clarified, "It's a misunderstanding; it was a drama," and reminisced about the good memories from that date, praising Kim Ji-min's beauty.
The conversation then shifted to Kim Dong-wan's illustrious school days, where he revealed he was the vocalist in a band from the prestigious Gangnam 8th district and was nicknamed 'Moses' at Whimoon High School, admitting, "I was somewhat famous."
He also recounted a high school date with Lee Hyori, stating, "During a festival, Hyori was rumored to be the prettiest at Seomun Girls' High School, and a friend thought we would hit it off because he was into music." However, he humorously noted that they didn't seem to be each other's type. Fellow cast member Tak Jae-hoon joked about their pride getting in the way, while Kim Dong-wan explained that their fashion choices at the time—him in white pants and Hyori in hip-hop style—didn't align, leading to a lack of attraction.
Despite their initial awkwardness, both Kim Dong-wan and Lee Hyori later became successful singers with Shinhwa and Fin.K.L, respectively. When asked if they ever discussed their past date after debuting, Kim Dong-wan replied, "Fin.K.L hit it big right after debut, while Shinhwa didn't have that level of success initially, so it felt awkward to bring it up." Tak Jae-hoon humorously suggested that Kim Dong-wan couldn't talk about it because he got rejected.
As the conversation turned to marriage, Kim Dong-wan admitted he hasn't been able to get married yet, prompting Tak Jae-hoon to tease him about possibly having a trauma from being turned down by Lee Hyori. Kim Dong-wan responded, "It's not that I don't want to get married; it's that I can't. Recently, I've concluded that I just can't right now."
