Kim Dae-ho Transitions to Freelance Life Amidst Industry Challenges

Kim Dae-ho, who recently left his position at MBC, is facing scrutiny but seems to have a busy schedule ahead, alleviating any concerns about his income. He first gained attention as an MBC announcer through the 2011 special 'New Employee' and later became popular on the YouTube channel 'News Anhani' before joining the reality show 'I Live Alone'. Known for his down-to-earth personality reminiscent of comic artist Giann84, Kim has appeared in various programs including 'TV Inside TV', 'Unification Outlook', 'Zero Complaints UP', 'Dancing with the Stars Season 3', 'I Live Alone', 'Today N', 'Home Alone! Holmes', 'Ramen Grandpa Season 4', 'The Great Guide', 'Less Genius 2', 'Solo Alumni Association', 'Car to the Future', 'Run Away', 'Zero Won Happiness', 'Thank Goodness for Rest', 'Massage Road', and 'The Leader's Side Dishes'.

Kim announced his resignation during the January 31 episode of 'I Live Alone', stating, "I have worked hard at the company without regrets. Instead of quitting, I want to explore how to live a different life." His resignation process was completed on February 4, and he shared a post on Instagram revealing his retirement letter with the caption "Moving out on 0204" and stating, "I’m going out to earn money," marking his new status as a freelancer.

Following his declaration, Kim quickly became a target of industry scrutiny. On the February 9 episode of KBS2's 'Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears', comedian Lee Kyung-kyu expressed concerns about the diminishing opportunities for comedians in entertainment, categorizing various professions into allies and foes. He specifically labeled announcer-turned-broadcasters like Jeon Hyun-moo, Kim Seong-joo, Jang Sung-kyu, and Kim Dae-ho as 'enemies', stating, "I don’t care about naming names. I want to stir things up with this."

Despite the challenges, Kim appeared relaxed during his appearance on 'Gonari-ja', a mentoring program hosted by announcer Kang Ji-young, where she meets individuals from various fields to provide advice. Kim, who first met Kang on 'New Employee', humorously remarked about the small size of a calendar and planner he received, saying, "It’s too small. I have a lot of schedules."

True to his word, Kim quickly secured a new job after announcing his freelance status. He joined MBC Every1's 'The Great Guide 2' and boarded a flight to Rwanda on February 10 alongside Park Myung-soo and Choi Daniel. 'The Great Guide' is a reality travel program where long-term residents of Korea act as guides, showcasing local spots to travelers visiting their home country.

Spotted at Incheon International Airport, Kim sparked curiosity by lying on the airport floor before his departure. A recent Instagram post featured a photo of him looking noticeably thinner with the caption "Survival". As he is currently filming 'The Great Guide 2', viewers are eager to see what challenges he faces in the upcoming episodes.
