Kim Dae-ho Leaves MBC After 14 Years

Kim Dae-ho (김대호), a 42-year-old announcer, has officially departed from MBC after 14 years of service. On February 4, MBC confirmed that Kim's resignation process has been completed, stating, "Kim Dae-ho's resignation has been processed today, and he has been granted voluntary resignation." Previously, he served as the deputy head of the Announcer Team 1 in the Announcer Department. Following his departure, Kim plans to pursue a freelance career.
Kim announced his resignation during the MBC variety show, Single's Inferno (나 혼자 산다), which aired on January 31. He reflected on his time at MBC, saying, "I joined MBC in 2011, so it has been about 14 years. I take pride in having worked diligently at one company. Although work became busier and more challenging, I realized that since I am over 40, if I want to make a change, it has to be now."
When discussing his reasons for leaving, he mentioned, "There are various factors. Resigning is something everyone considers at least once, but it’s not just about leaving a job; it’s about contemplating how to live a different life. I am grateful that this opportunity has arisen. It feels like the last chance to take control of my life."
Currently, Kim Dae-ho is featured in MBC programs such as Single's Inferno (나 혼자 산다) and Home Alone (구해줘! 홈즈). He joined MBC as part of the 30th public recruitment of announcers after being selected as one of the final three contestants on the show Our Night (우리들의 일밤) in 2011. Over the years, he showcased his entertainment skills on Single's Inferno and received the Rookie Award at the 2023 MBC Entertainment Awards.
