Kim Ah-young Wins Best Acting Award at 2024 SBS Drama Awards

On December 21, 2024, actress Kim Ah-young received the Best Acting Award in the mini-series human/fantasy category for her role in '지옥에서 온 판사' (The Judge from Hell) during the 2024 SBS Drama Awards held at the SBS Prism Tower in Mapo, Seoul.
In her emotional acceptance speech, Kim expressed her gratitude, saying, "I truly appreciate this. I thought I was just a nominee for the rookie award, and honestly, I would have been fine even if I didn't win. However, my parents came today, and I felt a bit guilty thinking they might be disappointed, so I am thankful for this unexpected honor."
She continued, "First and foremost, I want to sincerely thank Director Park Jin-pyo for giving me the role of Lee Ah-rong in 'The Judge from Hell.' Every time the director gave me a thumbs up after a cut, I gained immense confidence in my performance. I also want to thank my senior, Kim In-kwon, for mentioning me earlier; I wanted to say something too. It was an honor to act alongside seniors like Park Shin-hye and Kim In-kwon, whom I grew up watching. I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to perform with you. I respect you, seniors."
Kim also took a moment to acknowledge those who supported her throughout her journey, stating, "If I ever receive an award for acting, there are people I want to thank. During my five years working on the web drama '짧은대본' (Short Script), I dreamed of becoming an actress with the heart of a hopeful newcomer. I want to sincerely thank the directors who believed in me and supported me during my low moments. I owe my ability to act to them. I have learned so much more from acting on set than from watching performances in books and films. I will continue to work hard and grow as Kim Ah-young, an actress. Thank you."
