Kep1er Set for Summer Comeback in August

Kep1er, the multinational girl group that has captured hearts with their diverse charms, is gearing up for a summer comeback. According to reports on June 25, the group, consisting of Choi Yujin (최유진), Shaoting (샤오팅), Kim Chaehyun (김채현), Kim Dayeon (김다연), Hikaru (히카루), Huening Bahiyyih (휴닝바히에), and Seo Young Eun (서영은), is preparing for their return in August.

Kep1er was formed through the Mnet survival show Girls Planet 999: Girl's War, which concluded in October 2021. They debuted in January 2022 with their first mini-album, FIRST IMPACT, and have since released hit songs like 'WA DA DA', 'UP!', 'Giddy', and 'Galileo', establishing themselves as a prominent fourth-generation girl group.

Due to the nature of the survival program, Kep1er initially signed a contract for a limited activity period of 2 years and 6 months. While previous project groups like I.O.I, Wanna One, and IZ*ONE followed a similar path, Kep1er’s rapid rise in popularity led to discussions about extending their contract. Ultimately, seven of the members, excluding Kang Yeseo and Mashiro, decided to renew their contracts.

This made Kep1er the first project group to extend their contract. After restructuring as a seven-member group, they released their first full album, Kep1going On, in June of last year, featuring the title track 'Shooting Star'.

Kep1er's upcoming comeback will mark nearly a year since their first full album release. Known for flawlessly executing various concepts and creating their own unique genre, fans are eager to see what the group will present this summer.

In addition to their comeback, Kep1er will perform at the Waterbomb Seoul 2025 festival, taking place from July 4 to 6 at the KINTEX outdoor global stage in Gyeonggi Province, ahead of their August return.
