KBS Welcomes Back Kang Ho-dong in New Variety Show 'Study and Play'

KBS is set to launch a new variety show titled '공부와 놀부' (Study and Play), featuring popular hosts Kang Ho-dong, Kim Ho-young, and Lee Soo-yeon, promising a lively Monday night entertainment experience. Notably, this marks Kang Ho-dong's return to KBS after a decade, following the conclusion of 'Invisible Man' in April 2015.

In 'Study and Play', star parents will tackle elementary school textbook questions in a unique quiz talk show format, dubbed 'Empathy Quiz Talk Show for Elementary Parents'. Kang Ho-dong will take on the role of the playful parent, drawing from his own experiences as a father to an elementary school student, allowing him to connect deeply with both celebrity parents and their children.

Kim Ho-young, known for his vibrant energy that transcends musicals and variety shows, will transform into the fun-loving Uncle Hoi, captivating the hearts of children with his charm. He will also serve as the exclusive communicator, revealing the hidden thoughts of the kids that their star parents cannot hear.

Lee Soo-yeon, the beloved 'Trot Prodigy', is stepping into her first MC role. With her youthful innocence and sharp hosting skills, she is set to become the mascot of 'Study and Play', showcasing her fantastic chemistry with Kang Ho-dong and Kim Ho-young. During the first recording, she humorously remarked that she expected Kang Ho-dong to be intimidating but found him adorable, bringing laughter to the studio.

The show aims to bridge the communication gap between busy star parents and their children by having them solve elementary school problems they may have never encountered due to their hectic schedules. Viewers can expect a mix of challenging questions that will surprise the star parents and nostalgic ones that will evoke fond memories.
