KBS Decides to Scrap All Footage from '남주의 첫날밤을 가져버렸다' After Controversy
The filming team for KBS's new drama '남주의 첫날밤을 가져버렸다' has made the decision to discard all footage shot at Byeongsan Seowon in Andong. On January 16, KBS confirmed to Sports Chosun that the filming scenes at Byeongsan Seowon would indeed be completely scrapped.
The controversy arose when it was revealed that the filming crew had used nails on six locations of the Mandae Ru Pavilion and one pillar of the dormitory, totaling seven spots, while shooting at the UNESCO World Heritage site.
In response, KBS issued an official statement, explaining that the drama's representatives are currently in discussions with Byeongsan Seowon officials to assess the situation and agree on restoration procedures. They also committed to actively discussing measures to prevent such incidents in the future and addressing any additional damages that may arise. KBS sincerely apologized to everyone affected by this incident. Following this, the city of Andong requested the complete disposal of the footage from the drama.
Meanwhile, '남주의 첫날밤을 가져버렸다' is a romantic fantasy that follows an ordinary college student's spirit inhabiting a minor character in a romance novel, who spends a night with the story's intensely obsessive male lead. The drama has garnered attention for featuring Ok Taecyeon, a member of 2PM and actor, alongside Seohyun from Girls' Generation, who are set to star together.
