Kanye West, also known as Ye, has once again found himself in hot water due to his controversial statements. On February 8, 2025, reports from various media outlets, including Variety, revealed that West made antisemitic comments on his social media platforms. In a post, he declared, "I am a Nazi," and expressed his admiration for Adolf Hitler, stating, "I love Hitler too much" and that he enjoys when Jewish people tell him they cannot work with him. He further asserted that he would never apologize for his remarks about Jews.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the American Jewish Committee (AJC) quickly condemned his statements. ADL CEO Jonathan A. Greenblatt issued a statement highlighting that just a few years ago, the organization linked 30 antisemitic incidents to West's previous hate speech in 2022. He criticized West's dangerous behavior as a blatant expression of hate.
The AJC also emphasized the potential impact of West's words, noting that while some hate speech can be dismissed, the influence of someone with millions of followers like West on social media cannot be overlooked. They urged entertainment figures with similar platforms to speak out against such overt hatred.
This is not the first time West has faced backlash for his antisemitic comments; he previously praised Nazis and made derogatory remarks about Jewish people in 2022, which led to severed ties with major brands like Adidas. Recently, in a podcast interview, West claimed that his past diagnosis of bipolar disorder was a misdiagnosis and that he is actually on the autism spectrum.
