Kang Sang-jun Wins Best New Actor at 2024 SBS Drama Awards

Actor Kang Sang-jun has been awarded the Best New Actor trophy at the 2024 SBS Drama Awards held on December 21 at the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Kang gained recognition for his role in the highly popular SBS drama 'Chaebol X Detective' this year.

In the series, Kang portrayed Detective Park Jun-young from the Gangha Police Station's Violent Crimes Unit, a character known for his calm and rational demeanor. Despite his seemingly cold exterior due to his strict adherence to work protocols, Park Jun-young's character reveals a warm and deep personality, showcasing a compelling duality. Kang's performance was so fitting that it significantly enhanced the show's overall quality, earning him widespread acclaim from viewers.

Upon receiving the Best New Actor award, Kang expressed his aspirations, stating, "I often think about wanting to become a good actor, even if it's a vague desire." He continued, "There are times when I hit walls in my acting and doubt whether I'm doing well, but I feel like I've received tremendous support and encouragement to dream of being a good actor. I will continue to work diligently and sincerely to become a great actor."

Following 'Chaebol X Detective', Kang has been busy with several projects, including the dramas 'Marry My Husband', 'Doctor Slump', 'To My Harry', and the play 'Interview on a Rainy Day'. His future acting endeavors are already generating significant anticipation.
