Kang Sang-jun, Kim Shin-bi, and Seo Bum-jun Win Rookie Awards at 2024 SBS Drama Awards

On December 21, 2024, actors Kang Sang-jun (강상준), Kim Shin-bi (김신비), and Seo Bum-jun (서범준) were honored with the Rookie Actor Award at the 2024 SBS Drama Awards held at the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Seoul. The event was hosted by Shin Dong-yup, Kim Hye-yoon, and Kim Ji-yeon (Bona).

The nominees for the Male Rookie Actor Award included Kang Sang-jun and Kim Shin-bi from '재벌X형사' (The Chaebol's Detective), Park Ji-hoon from '지옥에서 온 판사' (The Judge from Hell), Seo Bum-jun from '열혈사제2' (Hot Blooded Priest 2), and Jo Han-gyeol from '커넥션' (Connection). Ultimately, the award went to Kang Sang-jun, Kim Shin-bi, and Seo Bum-jun.

Upon receiving the award, Kang Sang-jun expressed his surprise and gratitude, stating, "I’m overwhelmed. I want to thank the director and writer for giving me this opportunity. I constantly think about wanting to be a good actor, and while I often face challenges and doubts, receiving this wonderful award gives me the courage to keep pushing forward. I will work hard to become a great actor. Thank you."

Kim Shin-bi thanked the viewers of '재벌X형사' and acknowledged the support of the director, writer, cinematographer, and all staff members. She mentioned her co-stars, including Ahn Bo-hyun, Park Ji-hyun, and Kang Sang-jun, saying, "I’m happy to have worked with you all. I love my family and friends who are watching on TV. I will enjoy today and strive to show my growth in the future. Thank you."

Seo Bum-jun shared his disbelief at winning, revealing that the rosary ring he wore was one he had since his student days. He expressed his long-held dream of becoming a priest and his desire to portray a priest or seminary student on screen. He thanked the director, writer, and his seniors from '열혈사제2', including Kim Nam-gil, for helping him achieve this dream. He concluded by expressing gratitude to his supportive agency and fans, promising to continue growing as an actor and to bring joy to others through his work.
