Kang Ha-neul Shares His Dating Struggles on Salon Drip 2

In the latest episode of Salon Drip 2, actor Kang Ha-neul brought laughter as he candidly discussed his struggles with dating. The episode, titled 'Getting Closer and Then Drifting Apart with Kang Ha-neul,' aired on March 25, 2025.

Kang Ha-neul, who revealed that he often doesn't carry his phone, stated, "I don’t take my phone to the set because I don’t expect any messages. When I look at my phone, no one approaches me, and I worry that someone might miss saying something important to me." His co-host, Jang Do-yeon, expressed admiration for his perspective.

However, Kang admitted that he is not the type to initiate contact, saying, "I’m not good at keeping in touch. My routine at home involves not looking at my phone, so I often miss texts and calls." When Jang asked about his communication during relationships, he noted, "I tend to reach out more than with friends, but I often feel unsure about how far the conversation should go. I don’t know what to ask, and the timing feels awkward."

Kang Ha-neul shared his concerns about dating, saying, "I haven’t been in a relationship for a long time, and thinking about it makes it harder to start dating again. I feel like I’m not someone who can easily meet new people." Jang advised him to find someone who communicates moderately. When asked what a 'first message' means to him, Kang replied, "I only reach out when I’m genuinely curious. I try to express my curiosity in one sentence." Jang humorously suggested that he should always check for new messages, to which Kang admitted, "I do often check for everything."

As the conversation continued, Kang Ha-neul asked how to typically communicate, showing his lack of experience in dating. Jang recommended starting with small talk, to which Kang responded, "But wouldn’t that just lead to a casual relationship?" He also mentioned the idea of celebrating 'two-two' anniversaries, prompting Jang to jokingly ask if his last relationship was in his teenage years, which led to laughter.
