Kakao Entertainment Launches New Actor Audition Project

Kakao Entertainment (대표 권기수·장윤중) is set to host the 'Kakao Entertainment Actors Audition,' a unified project aimed at discovering new talent across its six management labels. This marks the second large-scale audition since the inaugural event in 2019, as the company embarks on a quest to find the next generation of stars ready to shine on the global stage.

The audition will involve six prominent labels under Kakao Entertainment: BH Entertainment, VAST Entertainment, Management Forest, Awesome ENT, J Wide Company, and King Kong by Starship. Aspiring actors born between 2000 and 2010 are eligible to apply, with submissions open until July 11 via the official Kakao Entertainment audition website.

The selection process consists of an initial online assessment that includes document reviews and free acting video submissions, followed by offline acting tests in the second and third rounds. Industry professionals, including renowned directors and writers, will serve as judges, ensuring a high level of expertise and credibility in the evaluation process. Successful candidates will sign exclusive contracts with one of the six participating companies, marking the beginning of their careers as new actors.

The audition's slogan, 'The Start of Acting, Your First TAKE,' reflects the initiative's commitment to supporting the first steps of aspiring actors and fostering their growth. Notably, participants who reach the third round will receive opportunities for professional profile shoots, acting training, and interviews with industry professionals. This allows them to showcase their unique personalities and charm to industry insiders and fans, while also engaging with potential fanbases through Kakao Entertainment's global K-culture platform, Berriz (베리즈).

Kakao Entertainment aims to reaffirm its dedication to discovering new talent in the domestic acting scene through this audition. The first unified audition in 2019 successfully highlighted several emerging actors, including Joo Jong-hyuk (주종혁) from BH Entertainment, who gained recognition for his roles in the drama 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' (이상한 변호사 우영우) and the film 'No Secrets' (비밀은 없어).
