Kakao Entertainment Launches Global K-Culture Fan Platform 'Berriz'

On March 25, 2025, Kakao Entertainment (co-CEOs Kwon Ki-soo and Jang Yoon-jung) officially launched 'Berriz,' a global fan platform dedicated to K-culture enthusiasts. Berriz aims to provide a variety of services for fans of all K-culture intellectual properties (IPs), including artists, creators, webtoons, dramas, films, and musicals. Kakao Entertainment described Berriz as a space where fans from around the world can connect and enjoy K-culture, much like berries that grow larger and sweeter when gathered together.
Following the initial participation of Antenna's Jung Seung-hwan, the rookie girl group KiiiKiii from Starship Entertainment, which has been generating buzz since their pre-debut, will open their official fan community alongside their debut. Additionally, the fan community for the upcoming drama 'Bunny and Brothers,' based on a Kakao webtoon, will launch in early April, just before its premiere.
Berriz is designed as a fan-friendly, modular platform that tailors its services to the unique characteristics and needs of different IPs and fandoms. It plans to incorporate AI, commerce, and live streaming to create customized communities for various IPs. The platform allows for easy adjustments based on the needs of both the IPs and their fans, ensuring an optimal environment for free communication and enjoyment.
Recognizing the evolving fandom culture, which emphasizes not only communication with artists but also the creation and sharing of content among fans, Berriz will support a range of services to enhance fan interaction. Drawing on its extensive experience from operating diverse entertainment platforms like KakaoPage, Melon, and 1theK, Kakao Entertainment aims to foster a new fandom culture in collaboration with fans.
KiiiKiii officially opened their fan community on Berriz on March 24, 2025, coinciding with the release of their debut album 'UNCUT GEM.' The community will feature live streaming and VOD services, allowing fans to engage with all aspects of KiiiKiii's journey. The group has already captured attention with their pre-debut track 'I DO ME,' showcasing their impressive talent and charm.
In addition, the fan community for 'Bunny and Brothers' will open in early April. This popular webtoon has garnered over 170 million views and is set to premiere on MBC on April 4, 2025. The drama follows Bunny's romantic escapades after a disastrous first love, featuring young stars like Noh Jung-ui, Lee Chae-min, and Jo Jun-young. The Berriz fan community will offer exclusive content related to the drama and webtoon, as well as AI-driven services and special events to enhance the fan experience.
Furthermore, Jung Seung-hwan, who has been actively engaging with fans through Berriz, has introduced new services for his official fan club 'US.' This includes a special space for members, where they can access exclusive content and reminisce about their shared memories from previous fan community activities.
Berriz is currently available on both web and mobile (Android, iOS) platforms, supporting translations in 18 languages, including Korean and English, to cater to a global audience.
