JYP's New Boy Group KickFlip Surpasses 300,000 Pre-Orders Ahead of Debut

JYP Entertainment's upcoming boy group, KickFlip, has already surpassed 300,000 pre-orders for their debut album. Set to launch on January 20, the mini-album titled 'Flip it, Kick it!' features the title track 'Mama Said (뭐가 되려고?)'. The announcement of KickFlip's debut at the 2024 MAMA Awards in Los Angeles last November generated significant excitement among K-pop fans worldwide, further fueled by a series of engaging teaser content.

As of January 15, the pre-order count for 'Flip it, Kick it!' reached an impressive 300,000 copies. The debut album includes six tracks: 'Mama Said (뭐가 되려고?)', '응 그래', 'WARRIORS', 'Knock Knock', 'Like A Monster', and '내일에서 만나'. Members 계훈, 아마루, 동화, and 민제 contributed to the lyrics of several songs, while Young K from JYP's senior group DAY6 wrote the lyrics for the track 'WARRIORS'.

KickFlip has demonstrated their rising popularity, amassing over 400,000 followers on Instagram and 630,000 on TikTok just ten days after releasing their first content on January 6. They also premiered the full music video for '응 그래', which quickly climbed to the 9th spot on YouTube's Worldwide Music Video Trending and reached over 10 million views within two days of its release.

The group is ramping up their promotional efforts with a large-scale campaign throughout January, featuring an anamorphic 3D outdoor advertisement in the COEX K-Pop Square in Gangnam, Seoul. On their debut day, January 20, they will hold a debut show at 7 PM on Mnet M2, followed by a showcase at 9 PM. Additionally, a pop-up store will be open from January 25 to February 2 at The Hyundai Seoul in Yeongdeungpo.

KickFlip has already been recognized as one of the '8 Rookie K-Pop Acts To Watch In 2025' by Grammy.com, highlighting the anticipation surrounding their debut. The group's name, inspired by a complex skateboarding trick, symbolizes their commitment to breaking new ground in the music industry. 'Flip it, Kick it!' will officially be released on January 20 at 6 PM.
