Jung Yoo-ra Criticizes Jung Woo-sung Over Fatherhood Comments

Jung Yoo-ra (정유라), the daughter of Choi Seo-won (최서원, formerly known as Choi Soon-sil), who is currently serving an 18-year prison sentence for her involvement in the corruption scandal, has publicly criticized actor Jung Woo-sung (정우성) regarding his recent acknowledgment of fatherhood. On November 25, she shared an article on her Facebook page revealing that Jung Woo-sung has confirmed he is the father of a child born to model Moon Ga-bi (문가비). In her post, she questioned, "What does it mean to take responsibility but not get married?"

Jung Yoo-ra further commented, "Even young people in their early twenties don’t act like that anymore. If they are going to take responsibility, they should get married; if not, they shouldn’t play word games about responsibility."

She also referenced Jung Woo-sung's previous statements advocating for the acceptance of refugees, stating, "Someone who advocates for accepting refugees in our land doesn’t want to bring his own child into his home." She added, "The most painful thing in the world is a child's resentment, and the hardest thing to mend is a child's heart that has already drifted away."

The news of Jung Woo-sung being the father of Moon Ga-bi's child was first reported by the entertainment media outlet Dispatch the previous afternoon. According to the report, Jung Woo-sung and Moon Ga-bi were not in a formal relationship and had no plans to marry. They reportedly became close after meeting at an event in 2022, and Moon Ga-bi revealed her pregnancy in June of the following year.

Jung Woo-sung's agency confirmed that while they could not comment on the specifics of their relationship or marriage plans, they acknowledged that the child is indeed Jung Woo-sung's. The agency stated, "The child that Moon Ga-bi revealed on social media is Jung Woo-sung's biological child," and added, "We are discussing the best way to raise the child. Jung Woo-sung will fulfill his responsibilities as a father to the best of his ability."

On the same day, Moon Ga-bi took to Instagram to announce the birth of her child without mentioning marriage or the identity of the father. She expressed, "I may not be a perfect mother yet, but looking at my child, who fills my heart with love just by existing, I am determined to become a healthy mother filled with love and happiness rather than perfection. I believe I need to have the courage to do that."
