Jung Seung-hwan Surprises Fans in Military Uniform on 'The Seasons - Lee Young-ji's Rainbow'

In a historic moment on KBS2TV's 'The Seasons - Lee Young-ji's Rainbow', singer Jung Seung-hwan made a surprise appearance in military uniform, delighting fans with his performance. The episode aired on February 7, 2025, where Lee Young-ji introduced him as a 'ballad singer who has just been discharged from the military.' Jung, who recently completed his service, took the stage in full military attire, even saluting as he began to sing his hit song 'If It Were You,' which drew cheers from the audience.
Having served in the Army's military band for 1 year and 6 months, Jung shared that he was back on stage just a month after his discharge. He humorously remarked, 'I thought I wouldn’t wear this again since I’m far from being a reservist, but I wore it to celebrate my discharge.' He added, 'It feels strange to be on stage in military uniform; I’m not sure if I’m a soldier or a civilian.'
Jung also expressed his desire to wear something stylish for his final song if he danced well. The performance included a medley of popular girl group dances, including aespa's 'Next Level,' 'Supernova,' and IVE's 'Love Dive,' which further energized the crowd.
As a former vocalist in the military band, Jung reflected on his time performing at military events, stating, 'Singing in front of civilians makes me feel like I’m in the right place.'
Jung Seung-hwan enlisted in July 2023 and completed his service on January 16, 2025. Just two weeks after his discharge, he resumed his broadcasting activities, marking a new chapter in his career. He had previously contributed to the OST for MBC's drama 'Motel California' with the song 'It Might Not Be Love' as part of his post-military comeback. Fans are eagerly anticipating what music and stories he will share in future appearances.
