Jung Seok-yong Opens Up About His 5-Year-Younger Wife

On June 16, actor Jung Seok-yong appeared as a special MC on SBS's 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny,' where he shared insights about his married life. Recently, he surprised fans by announcing his marriage to a girlfriend who is five years younger. His wife, who works as a music director, is noted for her resemblance to actress Lee Young-ae.

During the show, host Kim Gu-ra inquired about Jung's relationship, suggesting that at his age, marriage must be on the horizon. Jung responded, "Actually, I recently appeared on 'My Little Old Boy' where I was looking at wedding venues, and that sparked a lot of questions." He confirmed, "I am already married. We consider ourselves married," and revealed that they are living together. He humorously added that his wife told him, "If anyone asks, just say we’re married."

Jung also addressed misconceptions about being a remarried man, stating, "I’ve been misunderstood as having been married since my 30s. People ask how old my kids are!" He shared that he decided to marry after a trip together, explaining, "My partner is very organized, and I enjoy following her lead. After spending a few days together, I felt comfortable and thought it would be nice to keep being together."

When Kim Gu-ra joked about the possibility of them sharing a room during their trip, Jung playfully replied, "Why would we do that?" He added that they did share a room, clarifying, "We stayed together."

After discussing newlywed homes, Jung mentioned, "She came to my place, and we organized the house together. We even bought a big bed at first. My sleeping pattern is to go to bed by 10 PM, while she, being a musician, tends to stay up late. I find it cute to see her sleeping in the morning."

Jung noted that thanks to his wife, he has been eating breakfast regularly, saying, "I used to think skipping meals was better for my health, but now I feel good letting go of that idea."

He described his wife as having Lee Young-ae's skin and Cha Eun-woo's physique, shyly admitting, "She loves to shower after working out and sweating."

When the topic of exchanging gifts came up, Jung revealed that his wife had mentioned rings, but he had joked about taking them off during filming, which led to a slightly disappointed expression from her. He acknowledged that he might need to discuss a proposal, prompting laughter from the female panelists who expressed concern over his lack of a formal proposal. Jung responded, "I’ll think about it," bringing more humor to the conversation.
