Jung Joon-ho Shares How He Became Close with His Older Brother Shin Hyun-joon

On the February 1st episode of MBC's variety show, 전지적 참견 시점 (The Manager), actor Jung Joon-ho opened up about his comfortable relationship with his older brother, Shin Hyun-joon. During the 332nd episode, Jung Joon-ho introduced Shin Hyun-joon as his daily manager, explaining that he had to seek help due to an important schedule on his day off. Shin Hyun-joon humorously noted that Jung Joon-ho currently does not have a management company and needed to read a wedding declaration at a ceremony.

Jung Joon-ho affectionately referred to his brother as 'Manager Shin' and playfully criticized him, saying, 'Our manager has changed. Hey, bring hot water at 60 degrees,' and 'What kind of manager wears a suit?' He also jokingly advised him not to laugh in a ridiculous manner.

The banter between the two prompted the show's panelists to ask if they were the same age, to which Jung Joon-ho revealed, 'Shin Hyun-joon is the reason I couldn't star in the movie 친구 (Friend).' He recounted a time when he had finalized a contract with the director and even had press coverage, but during a casual meeting at a jjimjilbang (Korean spa), he showed his brother the script. Shin Hyun-joon casually dismissed it, questioning, 'How can this become a movie with you in a school uniform?'

When asked about the role he was supposed to play, Jung Joon-ho revealed it was the character Han Dong-soo, originally portrayed by Jang Dong-gun, which drew gasps from the audience. He explained that Shin Hyun-joon suggested he take on a different project instead, a Hollywood film titled 사이렌 (Siren), which had a conflicting release date with 친구 (Friend). Jung Joon-ho expressed his disappointment, noting that after the release of 친구, he would hear people quoting lines from the film everywhere he went, saying, '많이 묵었다 아이가' (Did you eat well?).
