Jung Ji-young Steps Down from 'Today Morning with Jung Ji-young', Yoon Sang to Take Over

Jung Ji-young has announced her departure from MBC FM4U's 'Today Morning with Jung Ji-young' after 12 years of hosting. She revealed her decision during the broadcast on December 13, citing personal reasons for her exit. Jung will continue to host the program until next week.

Since joining the show in October 2012, Jung Ji-young has made a significant impact, earning the 'Bronze Mouth' award in 2022 for her contributions to MBC over a decade. She was the first female solo host to receive this honor.

Following her departure, singer Yoon Sang has been appointed as the new host. MBC announced that 'Today Morning with Yoon Sang' will premiere on December 23, with Yoon bringing his extensive music career and radio DJ experience to the program, aiming for deep engagement with listeners.

Yoon Sang is known for his hit songs such as 'The Shadow of Parting' and 'Between Hidden Times', and has collaborated with various artists, including Lovelyz and IU. His unique sound, which blends electronic music, has garnered him a wide fanbase across generations. Recently, he served as the music director for 'Seoul Light DDP 2024', where he creatively translated abstract art into music, receiving acclaim for his work.

After leaving MBC radio in 2002 following 'Yoon Sang's Music Salon', he has worked as a music director and host on various programs. His return to radio is highly anticipated, with expectations for his exceptional music selection and warm communication skills.

In his new role, Yoon expressed excitement about sharing emotions with the public through the analog medium of radio, stating, "I will do my best to create a space that offers comfort and inspiration to listeners through music." He is also reportedly considering setting up a base near the broadcasting station for live broadcasts, given the morning show's format.
