Jung Hyun-kyu Apologizes for Controversial Remarks on Devil's Plan 2

Jung Hyun-kyu has publicly apologized for his controversial comments made during the Netflix show Devil's Plan 2. On May 16, he appeared in a review video on the YouTube channel 'Theo' discussing episodes 5 to 9 of the series. During the review, he addressed a notable scene from episode 8 where he asked fellow contestant Choi Hyun-jun, 'Can you do math?' in a sarcastic tone. This remark came after Choi made a move that Jung found perplexing while they were allied in the game. Viewers expressed discomfort with Jung's tone throughout the episode.

In his defense, Jung explained, 'When I asked if he could do math, I was actually trying to give him all my pieces.' However, fellow contestant Kyuhyun pointed out, 'It sounds like you're attacking him.' Jung clarified that his intention was to say, 'I’ll give you all the pieces I earned for being first place.' Kyuhyun humorously responded, 'You're asking a KAIST math major if he can do math?'

Jung further stated, 'Regardless of what we agreed upon, I meant to offer him more.' Choi recalled feeling frustrated at the time, saying, 'I just wanted to kill you.' Jung admitted that he could see how his comments might have come off poorly, and Kyuhyun noted that the two are now on friendly terms, even sharing drinks together.

Jung also reflected on this incident during an appearance on the show 'Hyeol's Club,' admitting, 'I realized I was being quite annoying. That was me.'

Meanwhile, the final episode of Netflix's Devil's Plan: Death Room, a brain survival game featuring players from various professions competing over seven days, is set to be released on May 20.
