Joo Woo-jae and Choi Daniel Win Best Entertainer Awards at 2025 MBC Entertainment Awards

During the live broadcast of the 2025 MBC Entertainment Awards (MBC 연예대상) on January 28, Joo Woo-jae (주우재) and Choi Daniel (최다니엘) were honored with the Best Entertainer awards. The event was hosted by broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo (전현무), actor Lee Jang-woo (이장우), and actress Yoon Eun-hye (윤은혜), and was streamed live.
Joo Woo-jae received the Best Entertainer award in the Show and Variety category. Expressing his surprise, he remarked, "I thought I wouldn’t win any awards for the next five years after receiving such a big one last year." He humorously added, "I still find variety shows challenging. I can already see my senior Yoo Jae-suk (유재석) spinning his finger in front of me."
He continued, "I genuinely still struggle with variety shows. However, I learn and admire my fellow seniors and juniors on set every time. They are precious members to me. I want to dedicate this award to those who teach me on set. Our production team has also worked incredibly hard."
Joo Woo-jae expressed his affection for his team, saying, "I really love our members. Although Se-hyung (세형) and Na-rae (나래) are here, I miss those who couldn’t make it. Please celebrate with us properly in the studio. I received this award! Thank you, and Happy New Year!"
Meanwhile, Choi Daniel won the Best Entertainer award in the Reality category. He expressed his disbelief, stating, "I don’t know if I deserve this award. I’ve never thought of myself as an interesting person. I’ve always considered myself to be boring, so I’m grateful for the love I’ve received."
He also congratulated the winner of the Rookie Award, saying, "Congratulations to ‘Kang Jjang’! I’m very thankful to the ‘Knowing Bros’ team. Although we haven’t known each other for long, I feel a bond and love for them. I’m especially grateful to the production team I worked with. I hope we can create more wonderful memories together in the future."
The MBC Entertainment Awards, which began as a comedy awards show, celebrated its 30th anniversary this year. Originally scheduled for December 29, the event was postponed due to a tragic accident involving a Jeju Air passenger plane on the day of the ceremony. After a national mourning period, the production team decided to hold the event live on the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday, January 28.
