Joo Ji-hoon Discusses Chemistry with Park Bo-young in 'Lighting Store'

Actor Joo Ji-hoon recently shared his thoughts on his chemistry with co-star Park Bo-young during the press conference and screening for the new Disney+ original series '조명가게' (Lighting Store) held at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore. The event was attended by writer Kang Full, director Kim Hee-won, Joo Ji-hoon, and Park Bo-young.
Joo Ji-hoon expressed, "Unfortunately, I didn't get to interact much with Bo-young. While there is chemistry between actors, I am a fan of writer Kang Full. I grew up reading his stories, and while performing, I felt a connection with the narrative. Working with director Kim Hee-won, I found his perspective on the set to be interesting, as it was very third-person. Since he is directing, I personally believe that pre-production is crucial, and everything was well-prepared. I had no doubts when I arrived on set. I felt that not only my chemistry with Bo-young but also with the other actors was well-established, so I didn't even think about voicing my opinions. It was a space where I could act freely and comfortably."
'조명가게' (Lighting Store) tells the story of a mysterious shop at the end of a dark alley that attracts customers with hidden secrets. Following the global success of '무빙' (Moving) in 2023, this series is highly anticipated as one of Disney+'s top projects. This marks Kang Full's second scriptwriting endeavor, and it is the fifth installment in his 'Mystery Psychological Comedy' series, based on the webtoon of the same name, which has garnered over 150 million views and received much acclaim from readers.
The series aims to expand on character narratives, with Kim Hee-won, known for his compelling performances in various films and dramas, making his directorial debut. The cast features a diverse ensemble of 11 mysterious characters, including Joo Ji-hoon, Park Bo-young, Kim Seol-hyun, Bae Sung-woo, Eom Tae-goo, Lee Jung-eun, Kim Min-ha, Park Hyuk-kwon, Kim Dae-myung, Shin Eun-soo, Kim Sun-hwa, and Kim Gi-ha, promising a seamless acting collaboration.
'조명가게' (Lighting Store) will premiere on December 4, releasing two episodes weekly over the following two weeks.
