Jisoo of BLACKPINK Set for Solo Debut Following Rosé's Success with 'Apartment'

Jisoo, a member of the globally renowned girl group BLACKPINK, is preparing to make her solo debut. She graces the cover of the December issue of Elle, where she shared her thoughts on leaving YG Entertainment to establish her own agency, BliSS.

During the accompanying interview, Jisoo hinted at her upcoming solo comeback, exciting fans with her words. When asked about the challenges of working on music after founding her own agency, she stated, "There are so many things to consider and decide on. It’s difficult but enjoyable, and I’ve come to realize how many people are supporting me. Because of that, the significance of the results will also be greater. I want to share it with you all soon."

Last year, Jisoo made waves with her first solo album, which surpassed 950,000 pre-orders, earning her a million-seller title. The lead single, "Flower," topped global music charts and even saw her perform at Coachella, showcasing her strong solo capabilities.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has continued to impress the global market with their individual activities. Lisa has been actively releasing tracks like "Rockstar," "New Woman," and "Moonlit Floor," even as she seemingly confirmed her relationship with billionaire heir Frédéric Arnault.

Jennie dominated the charts last month with her single "Mantra," which not only topped major domestic music charts but also made its way onto the Billboard Hot 100 for two consecutive weeks. Notably, she became the first K-pop female solo artist to reach number one on the iTunes Top Songs chart in the U.S. and achieved a triple kill on China’s top three music platforms.

Rosé recently revitalized the K-pop scene with her hit "Apartment," which set a record for the highest streaming debut for a K-pop female solo artist on Spotify. She also became the first K-pop female soloist to reach number one on both the Spotify Global and U.S. charts. Following this success, Rosé debuted at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the first time a K-pop female artist has entered the top 10. "Apartment" continues to create a global sensation.

With Jisoo now teasing her solo comeback, excitement is building among BLACKPINK fans. However, she plans to focus on her acting career for the time being. Jisoo has recently completed filming for the movie "All-Round Wife" and the series "Newtopia." She expressed her thoughts on balancing her responsibilities as a singer and actress, saying, "The energy may differ in the moment, but both require a long-term commitment and effort, so the weight of responsibility is the same. When I receive a good script, I try to meet with the director to discuss a lot because it’s important to ensure we share the same vision, given the long hours we will work together. As we spend a lot of time filming, my affection for the project naturally deepens. I hope viewers find it enjoyable, and while I have my worries, I’m also very excited about it."
