Jin Tae-hyun Opens Up About Personal Struggles and Family Life on 'My Little Old Boy'

Actor Jin Tae-hyun recently shared his emotional journey alongside his wife Park Si-eun during an appearance on SBS's 'My Little Old Boy' (미운 우리새끼). On January 12, he revealed that he experiences separation anxiety when apart from his wife, stating, "I feel comfortable when we are together. Even a short separation makes me restless." He emphasized that he often brings Park Si-eun along for work and social gatherings, which drew admiration from the audience.
When asked about his feelings during work, Jin admitted, "I sometimes worry about her safety, thinking what if she gets into an accident while I'm away?" This heartfelt confession prompted the show's mothers to inquire about their marriage duration. Upon learning they have been married for ten years, they applauded their commitment.
Jin also reflected on a painful experience from 2022 when he and Park Si-eun announced they were expecting a child, only to face the heartbreak of losing their daughter just 20 days before the due date. He credited his wife's strength during that time, recalling, "After her C-section, she suddenly got up and started walking, saying, 'I need to recover.' Seeing her determination made me realize I needed to protect her."
This experience led them to start running together, with Jin aiming to complete a full marathon while Park Si-eun plans to participate in a 10km race. They have been training together every morning for the past two years. Jin shared, "I promised to finish a marathon as a way to commemorate our child. After the loss, I hesitated but felt I had to keep that promise. Running brings back happy memories of that time."
Since their marriage in 2015, Jin and Park have adopted a daughter through adult adoption. Recently, they announced the addition of two daughters to their family, one an elite marathon runner and the other preparing to become a nurse. Jin clarified that while the girls call them 'mom' and 'dad,' they are not yet legally adopted due to certain circumstances but are living as a family.
He concluded by expressing his determination to continue preparing for parenthood, stating, "I won't give up on having children and will keep trying."
