Ji Ye Eun Officially Joins Running Man as a Fixed Member

On December 23, 2024, Choi Hyung In, the producer of the popular SBS variety show Running Man (런닝맨), discussed Ji Ye Eun's recent official addition to the cast during a phone interview with OSEN. Choi clarified that while Ji Ye Eun had been appearing regularly, they had not labeled her as an 'official member' in the subtitles. He stated, 'We didn't explicitly say she is an official member. She has naturally joined us. There have been many comments asking if Ji Ye Eun is a fixed member, and I think you can consider her as one now.'

Ji Ye Eun's inclusion comes after Jeon So Min's departure from the show in November of the previous year. Following Jeon So Min's exit, Song Ji Hyo had been the only female member until Ji Ye Eun's arrival as a fixed member after a year.

Since joining, Ji Ye Eun has made a significant impact on the show, and Choi expressed excitement about her chemistry with the other members, saying, 'Ji Ye Eun gets along well with everyone, including Ha Ha, Ji Suk Jin, and Yang Se Chan. I believe it will be fun when she interacts with Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo as well.'

Choi explained that the temporary member system was established to accommodate busy schedules, allowing members to join when they can. He noted, 'Just because Ji Ye Eun has joined doesn't mean the temporary member system is over. If there are other guests we want to see, we can still invite them as temporary members.'

Choi also mentioned that Kang Hoon is welcome to return whenever his schedule allows, emphasizing that Ji Ye Eun's addition does not signal the end of the temporary member system.
